The process

How it works

Three simple steps, from your first question to your appointment in China.

1

Prepare for your trip

A working phone, mobile data, payment apps, hospital documents and local emergency numbers — a plain checklist for your first trip.

See the checklist →
2

Find the right hospital

Not sure which hospital or department may fit your condition? Use the hospital information as a starting point and discuss the details with a local companion.

Ask a companion →
3

Be guided on the day

Your companion will be there with you in person to help with registration and find your way through an unfamiliar hospital. If you need interpretation during your doctor visit, that's arranged and priced separately — confirm with your companion in advance.

Before you travel to China for medical care: install WeChat, connect with your coordinator, choose your mobile access, get online on arrival, set up Alipay, and test a small payment. After you arrive in China: airport pickup, hotel near the hospital, review the medical plan, travel to the hospital, registration and check-in, consultation and tests, payment and medication, then follow-up or admission.
Pricing

Simple, upfront pricing

Consultation and matching on this site are free. You only pay your companion for their on-the-ground help.

Extra half-day or full-day help

≈ $100 / half day
≈ $200 / day

If you need continued companion help after the first day, it can usually be arranged by half day or full day. A half day is usually around $100, and a full day is usually around $200. The exact fee is confirmed directly between you and the companion.

All fees are paid by you directly to the companion and are strictly a matter between you and them. This platform only provides information and introductions — we do not set the price, handle the payment, or take any cut. Consultation and matching are always free — message us on WhatsApp, or download WeChat (a widely used messaging app in China) and reach us there, to get the contact details of a professional companion team in China and then work out your visit and itinerary directly with the companion.

FAQ

Common questions

A few things international patients ask us most.

Can foreigners get medical treatment in China?
Yes. International patients can be treated at Chinese hospitals, and many large hospitals in cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu have international clinics or departments used to caring for foreign patients. A local companion can help you choose a suitable hospital and handle registration; if you need language support during the visit, arrange it and confirm any fee with the companion in advance.
Do I need to speak Chinese to see a doctor in China?
Not necessarily. Some departments may have international-service options, but many hospital visits are handled mainly in Chinese. If you need English or another language, confirm translation support and any extra fee with the companion before the visit.
How much does dental treatment cost in China compared to Western countries?
Dental care in China — including implants, crowns and orthodontics — can be less expensive than in many Western countries. Exact prices depend on the hospital, materials, treatment plan and case difficulty, so get a written estimate from the hospital whenever possible.
Is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) safe and effective for international patients?
TCM treatments such as acupuncture and tuina (manual therapy) are widely practiced in China within established hospitals. A companion can help you understand department names, registration steps and how to explain your symptoms, but medical decisions should be made with qualified doctors.
What is a medical companion, and how can one help me in China?
A medical companion (sometimes called a patient navigator) is a local helper who may assist with hospital registration, translation arrangements, department navigation and practical communication. They are not doctors and should not replace professional medical advice.
